Zach Gavin

Zach Gavin is a close friend of mine that has an extremely relaxed personality. I chose to shoot this in a profile view to show his hair that he just recently dreaded and also to keep the positioning of the subject subtle. I also really wanted to show the barn and the hinge in front of him relating to wisdom he possesses. Being a friend of Zach's I have come to realize that there is little he doesn't know how to do. You could say he is a connoisseur of multiple trades.  Having a hyper active personality would never be seen at the first meeting of Zach. That is why in the portrait he seems worry-less, care free,  and laid back. However every time we hang out it seems as though he will never sit down. Always something do to he says. There is never a dull moment in the life of Zach Gavin. I chose to do the photo in black and white to have the focus on his face and create great contrast between him and the barn. It was very interesting trying to portray someones entire personality in one photo, and that was the biggest challenge for me with Zach. How could I ever convey his plethora of interests in one shot.
